Less than 40 per cent of young men and women have complete and accurate knowledge about HIV transmission. To address this situation, the UNAIDS Inter-Agency Task Team (IATT) on Education is convening an international symposium, organized by UNESCO, in New York on 27 April.
Organized by UNESCO, this symposium will review the situation of school-based sexuality education in selected countries, release the findings of a ground-breaking international study on the cost and cost-effectiveness of comprehensive sexuality education, and identify areas of collaboration and ways forward for international actors in HIV and education.
