PAM OMIDYAR Co-founder
Brings a compassionate and heart-felt focus to all things strategic for Omidyar Network.
Pam is devoted to alleviating human suffering, focusing specifically on ending human trafficking and slavery, and promoting early childhood development. Inspired by her life-long passion to help children with chronic illness, Pam founded HopeLab, a nonprofit organization that combines the highest standards of scientific research with innovative solutions to improve the health and quality of life for young people with chronic illness. In addition to caring full-time for her three young children, Pam is an active volunteer and contributes her expertise to several leading organizations, including the Santa Fe Institute Consortium: Increasing Human Potential (SFIC) and Tufts’ University College of Citizenship and Public Service (UCCPS).
Pam earned a BS in biology from Tufts University in 1989. After pursuing a masters in molecular biology at University of California, Santa Cruz, she decided to leave the lab for work that provided more immediate impact on people’s health and communities. Her work with Omidyar Network, HopeLab, SFIC and UCCPS was exactly what she had in mind.
